What my clients say

Anna Salaman, Head of Formal Learning, Royal Museums Greenwich

"Nicky Boyd has worked with the Royal Museums Greenwich over the last three years. During this time she has led and supported the Royal Museums Greenwich in a variety of evaluations spanning a diverse range of projects. This work has included front-end and formative evaluation for the National Maritime Museum’s forthcoming, permanent gallery ‘Nelson, Navy and Nelson’ – one of it’s most ambitious projects in recent years; evaluation of the Museum’s Formal Learning provision for Secondary Schools; as well as evaluation training for the Learning Department and individual project teams. Each project has presented individual challenges and has benefitted enormously from Nicky’s considerable experience, expertise, and exceptional capacity for flexibility. Throughout each project Nicky has worked closely with the teams to ensure the best possible outcomes, incorporating a variety of methods both qualitative and quantitative. The scope of work has required her to consult with a range of audiences including teachers, young people, families and adults with disabilities; the universally successful outcomes again testament to her expertise and flexibility. I would not hesitate to recommend Nicky Boyd. She is a highly skilled and experienced evaluator, a joy to work with and the consistently high quality outcomes she delivers are excellent value for money."

Jane Findlay, Audience Development Manager at Kenwood House, English Heritage

"Each time I have worked with Nicky she has demonstrated an ability to quickly understand the project and its objectives and has devised an appropriate evaluation methodology to capture the qualitative and quantitative information we required for both internal and external audiences. Importantly consideration has been paid to the process for both participants and the organisational context to ensure evaluation sessions are enjoyable but meaningful. As a facilitator Nicky is extremely personable and always makes participants feel comfortable about taking part. She is also very organised and highly reliable. She has never missed a deadline and has been flexible when working with tight project budgets and deadlines. Her reports are always thorough, pertinent and organised in a way that makes recommendations and finding easy to communicate and action."

Head of Learning

"I have known Nicky Boyd for over ten years and have worked with her on several contracts during this time. To projects, Nicky brings a wealth of experience, having worked with many different types of organisation and in the role of facilitator or mediator with many different types of people, at all levels within organisations. She’s particularly good at approaching and talking to members of the public in a genuine way, which encourages participation in whatever research she’s conducting. I have worked with her on designing, trialling and implementing on the ground evaluation, as well as running training and workshops to support others in doing this. She’s a leader in the field on both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, being equally versed in the theory and practice. Nicky is really easy to work with – she’s reliable and I have witnessed a calm and easy approach in every project and in every situation, some of which have been quite challenging. She has a good sense of appropriateness – balancing an informal, fun approach when this will work best, but equally, she’s comfortable about applying more formal methods when the people or task need this . I have found Nicky to be very reliable when delivering against agreed objectives, and at times she has gone above and beyond in order to complete the work, but always sticking to the agreed budget."
