This work has included front-end and formative evaluation for the National Maritime Museum’s forthcoming, permanent gallery ‘Nelson, Navy and Nelson’ – one of it’s most ambitious projects in recent years; evaluation of the Museum’s Formal Learning provision for Secondary Schools; as well as evaluation training for the Learning Department and individual project teams. "I have known Nicky Boyd for over ten years and have worked with her on several contracts during this time. To projects, Nicky brings a wealth of experience, having worked with many different types of organisation and in the role of facilitator or mediator with many different types of people, at all levels within organisations. She’s particularly good at approaching and talking to members of the public in a genuine way, which encourages participation in whatever research she’s conducting. I have worked with her on designing, trialling and implementing on the ground evaluation, as well as running training and workshops to support others in doing this. She’s a leader in the field on both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, being equally versed in the theory and practice. Nicky is really easy to work with – she’s reliable and I have witnessed a calm and easy approach in every project and in every situation, some of which have been quite challenging.
